Nancy's Own Story -

Nancy For Lakewood

I have been a Lakewood citizen for 50 years.  Born, raised and educated in this community, I attended Lasley Elementary, O'Connell Jr. High and graduated from Alameda Sr. High with the class of 1985.  My college years were spent at the University of Northern Colorado, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1990, with an emphasis in education.

I have been married for 18 years with a 15 year-old son, a cat, a turtle and chickens to keep me entertained daily.  I am proud to say my mother lives with us, and my brother and his wife resides in the very home I was raised in, just two miles east of where I live today.  We are an average middle-class family, living in the beautiful city of Lakewood, Colorado . . . A place I love and call “my home.”

I have been a small business owner in Lakewood for over 20 years and work with children in many ways.  I am an active parent in the Green Mountain community, volunteering regularly at Green Mountain High School, and was the past PTA President of Dunstan Middle School.  For college students, I sponsor youth in internships with textile design.  I was an organizational leader of the Lucky Clover 4-H club and currently assist with Boy Scouts.  I also help with mentoring youth interested in poultry, sewing, and cooking.

Our children are the future of Lakewood, and I will always make time for them. I have been an active member of my church my entire life (St. Paul's Episcopal) , as well as an event coordinator or committee member for various groups, including the Scottish Festival, The Jeffco Fair and Festival, and the Mural Fest held in Lakewood every August (supporting the arts).

If you are looking for positive change within the current city council and Lakewood as a whole, I am your candidate.  I am not one to sit back and wait 6 months for another assessment or study to happen to maybe make a decision for something.  I am one that gets things done, and gets it done correctly.  I want to be that improvement to this city we all love.

It is time to get people off their seats and make some noise.  It is time, for us to make a change.  Enough is Enough.

I am your change and I ask for your Vote and Support !!!

Thank you!
